Absolute Certainty.
I was away at a conference of creatives for a couple days and when I arrived back home, shutting my car door with a weary thump, she appeared in the late afternoon glow framed by the garage door, with outstretched hands. Like, here I am, I know you missed me.
She is my daughter. She’s not four. She’s nearly forty.

It’s the one thing I’m totally jealous of about Sarah. Her absolute certainty of her importance.
She knows she is loved. She believes everyone wants to celebrate her successes and special occasions. She has told me she is not going to die.
I think in her minds eye she believes she will always be present.
I know in my heart, she is right.
Celebrating Our Importance.
At the conference of creatives much time was spent in celebrating the successes of those in attendance, and bolstering the confidence of those still on the journey to reach their goals. We see each other, because we have each seen ourselves in those same places along our journeys, or have imagined how it would feel to be in that moment of success or trial.
The world would be a better place if we could see ourself in the desires, joys, and distress of those in all countries and cultures.
If we would celebrate the importance of each contribution to the intertwining strands of our diverse communities it would be a more perfect existence. No one beneficial contribution is more important than another.
Celebrate the pooh scooper, the seed planter, the builder, the bean counter, the educator, the scientist, the guider, the nurturer, the creative, the healer, and do it in a way that displays a valuable respect for their contribution.
Do so, so that they can know the certainty of their importance. Just as they do, who know they are truly loved.
