Curious creatures. Seemingly solitary individuals with their carry along shelter. They don’t appear to be in a hurry, enjoying the space they are in.
I don’t know whether I can relate totally to that lifestyle.
Lately it feels like I’ve been racing through each day trying to meet deadlines and take part in all the things I wish to. But I definitely enjoy the space I am in, enjoy some occasional solitude, and often appreciate moments when I don’t feel in a hurry. I am a curious creature as well.
In fact, this oil piece I was just working on as a follow up assignment for a recent webinar, had me curious about whether in the design of, and preparation for the printing process, consideration is given to the tonality or hue of black in font/text for picture books in regards to coloration of spreads or the whole tone of a particular book. Perhaps a question for a design team, or printing/publishing group.
The piece also had me wondering if I was going to have to keep working at a snail’s pace with our continuing humid weather. A piece with finer details is harder to work wet into wet.
When humidity drops I will dive into oils again, but for now, back to my drawing board.
