Inspired by a film short by a children's picture book illustrator, who's short described her use of a limited color palette, I decided to apply the process to this piece I've just begun work on. This work which I will title, "The Flirt", encompasses the innocent, flirtatious glances of a little girl and boy. While flirting is a natural part of our very being, also seen in other creatures of nature, I'd not personally seen anyone present it quite as bluntly as Paula (said Pow-la) a girl we met … [Read more...] about Limited Color Palette, “The Flirt”

It wasn't long before he had gained his balance and was soon riding along … [Read more...] about No Training Wheels – Sketch Portrait
Maine Lighthouse – Landscape Illustration

Glen and I took a cycle trip out to New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. To stand on the coast and be able to sketch this beauty, on a beautiful day no less, was a dream fulfilled. Besides the Maine … [Read more...] about Maine Lighthouse – Landscape Illustration
“My Son” Portrait Painting

I have several other images that I'll be working from that also display the sense of awe and tenderness that is at the core of the parent/child relationship. … [Read more...] about “My Son” Portrait Painting
